Each morning, I rose early and walked to a quiet edge of the grounds. The sunrise over the flat Texas coastal landscape, soft hues orange and pink, greeted me. I snapped photos, breathed deeply, and eased into the day.
Evenings, we drove to vantage points near the water or along Rockport’s coastline to catch sunset reflections. One night I brewed a pot of tea, and we sat at the picnic table in the campsite, silhouetted against the sky, watching colors fade.
If you’re into photography, bring a tripod or smartphone with good camera. Plan to wake early one or two mornings; let nature’s palette give you memory and inspiration.
